I thank you for viewing our website which tells us something about our sivagangai province in the congregation of the immaculate conception Madurai. Our founders had a vision to propagate the Gospel values and build up a society with that. Through the past 117 years our sisters get involved in the mission such as education, Evangelization, Medical, Social eco friendliness, Prison ministry and so on. Geographically Sivagangai is a dry area; but it is rich in Gospel preaching as it is the red land of St John De’ Britto S. J who faced martyrdon in oriyur for the sake of faith. It is my pleasure and privilege that we the sisters of the congregation of the immaculate, conception render their service in villages to inculcate Christian faith. Indeed we are happy to follow the path of Jesus who travelled along the dry land of Palastine.

Welcome to CIC sivagangai Province
Welcome to the website of sivagangai province of the congregation of the Immaculate conception- Madurai. It was started with four unlettered simple women of Panjampatti, a small village near Dindigul. Later this congregation was shifted to and established in Madurai on 2 nd July 1911. Our Superior General Rev, Mother Mary Josefa took effort to divide the congregation into regions for the sake of an efficient administration. Rev, Mother Josephine Alphonsa made effort to change the regions into practice such as Madurai, Sivagangai and Palayamkottai. In the year 1997 the region of sivagangai was made into province.
